Synopsis
In an increasingly stressful and confusing world, children too are affected mentally and emotionally. This, in turn, may have long-lasting impact on their optimal development towards adulthood. As parents, we ourselves may not be fully aware and informed, and in turn, feel frustrated and helpless, on how to reach out to our children who may be very anxious or feeling down, for various reasons that we may or may not understand. How, then, can we holistically help our children who may be affected by anxiety and mood issues?
In this session, we hope to:
- Introduce parents to general mental health, for children aged 7 to 12 years old.
- In particular, we will discuss about anxiety and depression, and understand the differences of between adult and child diagnoses.
- We will also share parenting aims and strategies for children with anxiety or depression, and guide parents on where and how to get help for such children.
Join this free online session with Bro Sufian and Sis Suliyati from MuslimParents.SG, so that we, as parents, can best parent and support our children according to their needs.
This session is supported by Yayasan Mendaki’s Community Leaders Forum (CLF) Fund.
